Assignment

Geoservices & Tehnic Consulting was appointed to perform landslide investigative consultancies for a service period of nearly two years (February 2011 – December 2013) for the Orastie – Sibiu Motorway project.
 

Our Role

We developed and implemented the conceptual design of a large Landslide Investigation Program (L.I.P.) including all associated site works. This multidisciplinary assessment involved geological, geotechnical, geophysical and geotechnical data interpretation was debuting with desktop studies and continued with day to day site observation. Subsequent stages involved geotechnical drillings, instrument installation, sampling and in situ testing followed by long term periodical monitoring associated with areas affected by landslides near the alignment of the motorway project.

Duties associated with landslide monitoring program included more than 1500m drillings, instrument installation, periodical slope inclinometer readings for areas affected by landslides and instability phenomena.

Our role consists of inspection of landslide events during the entire assignment period. These inspections were followed by detailed assessments of more than 5 kilometers affected by landslides, to investigate the causes and helping the designer and constructor to develop follow-up actions. Emergency team of specialists was continuously on standby during the project to respond to landslide incidents ensuring early mobilization to capture crucial transient data.
